Environmental Book Group Discussion: "The Light Eaters," by Zoe Schlanger

Environmental Book Group Discussion: "The Light Eaters," by Zoe Schlanger In-Person

Please join us on Wednesday, August 6, at 7 pm in our Program Room, Radcliffe Building, for a discussion of The Light Eaters, by Zoe Schlanger. The discussion will be led by Rebecca Poirier, environmental analyst, Town of Greenwich, and is co-sponsored by the Greenwich Conservation Commission and the Perrot Library.

The Light Eaters explores the emerging science on plant intelligence, uncovering plants' complex and unimaginable capabilities and calling into question what we consider to be conscious agents in the natural world.

Zoe Schlanger is a journalist covering science, health, and the environment. In addition to being the author of The Light Eaters, she is a staff writer at The Atlantic. She was a finalist for the 2019 Livingston Award and winner of the 2017 National Association of Science Writers' science reporting award.

Registration is required.
